Research on Assessing the Ecosystem Regulating Service Scarcity and Spatial Aggregation Characteristics in Beijing Based on a Multi-Dimensional Perspective

Abstract:

Scarcity is an essential prerequisite for the generation of ecosystem regulating service value, and assessing ecosystem regulating service scarcity (ERSS) is of great significance for achieving reasonable pricing of ecosystem regulating services. Existing studies have conducted relatively few discussions on the ERSS, with a lack of quantitative assessment. Therefore, this study constructed a comprehensive assessment framework for ERSS based on the theory of scarcity from four dimensions: ecosystem health, supply of ecosystem regulating services, demand for ecosystem regulating services, and alternative situations of ecosystem regulating services. Using Beijing as an example, this study revealed the spatial aggregation characteristics of ERSS at different spatial scales and explored the spatial heterogeneity of ERSS using spatial autocorrelation analysis. The results indicated that 1) the high value of ERSS was mainly concentrated in the central urban areas with a developed socio-economy and dense population, while low-value areas were mainly concentrated in the ecological conservation areas, where both ecosystem health grade and the supply of ecosystem regulating services were considerably high. 2) There was a significant positive spatial correlation between the ERSS. The spatial aggregation patterns were mainly of the high-high and low-low types, with the high-high type mainly distributed in the central urban area. 3) A clear spatial-scale effect on ERSS was observed. The spatial distribution of ERSS was significantly different at the grid scale, and with an increase in spatial scale, the spatial heterogeneity of scarcity weakened. It is suggested that when pricing ecosystem-regulating services in the future, the scarcity adjustment coefficient should be considered to modify the current valuation system to objectively reflect the ecosystem-regulating service value. The research findings contribute to enhancing the technology system for accounting for ecosystem regulating service value and provide a scientific basis for the refined management of regional ecosystems and ecological compensation.

摘要:

稀缺性是生态系统调节服务价值产生的必要条件,评估生态系统调节服务稀缺性有助于实现生态系统调节服务合理定价。既有的研究对生态系统调节服务稀缺性的探讨较少,定量评估匮乏。为此,基于稀缺性理论构建了生态系统调节服务稀缺性综合评估框架,涵盖生态系统健康、生态系统调节服务供给、生态系统调节服务需求和生态系统调节服务替代状况等4个维度。以超大城市北京市为例,揭示了不同空间尺度下北京市生态系统调节服务稀缺性的空间聚集特征,并利用空间自相关方法分析了空间异质性。结果表明,1)北京市生态系统调节服务高稀缺性区域主要集中在社会经济发达,人口密集的中心城区;低稀缺性区域则集中在生态系统健康等级高、调节服务供给高的生态涵养区。2)生态系统调节服务稀缺性存在显著的空间正相关,空间聚集格局主要以高-高型和低-低型为主,高-高型主要分布在中心城区。3)生态系统调节服务稀缺性具有空间尺度效应,在网格尺度上空间分布差异明显,随着尺度的增大空间异质性减弱。建议未来对生态系统调节服务定价时应考虑构建稀缺性调整系数,以修正现行价值评估体系,从而客观地反映生态系统调节服务的价值。该文提出的评估框架有助于完善生态系统调节服务价值核算的技术体系,为区域生态系统精细化管理和生态补偿提供科学依据。
